The 2026 World Cup players in your draft pool
A summer tournament changes a database. These are the cards the 2026 World Cup added, promoted and quietly demoted.

What a tournament does to a rating
Club football decides most of a rating: it is a longer sample, against more varied opposition. But a World Cup is the only place where every good player in the world is measured against the others in the same month, which makes it unusually useful evidence. After 2026 we reviewed the whole pool rather than only the winners.
The new arrivals
Roughly forty players joined the draft pool on the back of the tournament. They fall into three groups:
- Breakouts. Young players who started every match for a deep-running side and are now permanent internationals.
- Late developers. Established club professionals in their late twenties who had simply never had a tournament, and used this one.
- Goalkeepers. Tournaments are decided by them more than any other position, and several keepers moved a full tier.
Teenagers who won it
The most striking detail of 2026 was the age of some of the winners' starters — players who lifted the trophy at nineteen. Their cards carry it as their fun fact, and their ratings reflect a simple fact: they are not prospects any more, they are proven at the highest level available.
How to use them in a draft
In safe mode
The safe band (80–92) is now denser than it was, because the tournament pushed a lot of players into the mid eighties. Safe drafts are more reliable than they were a season ago, and slightly less exciting.
In risky mode
Risky opens the full range in both directions. The new legendary-tier tournament winners are in there, and so are the troll picks. If you want a memorable card, this is where it lives.
In Today's XI mode
Today's XI strips out the retired legends, so the 2026 intake makes up a much larger share of what you see. It is the best mode for a draft that feels like this season's football.
Nationality synergy after 2026
The tournament's deepest squads are now well represented across every position in the pool, which makes single-nation drafts genuinely achievable for a few countries. Gold pass lines are free points, and a country with a good goalkeeper, two defenders and a forward in the pool is a country worth committing to.
What comes next
Ratings are reviewed each season, not each week — a rating that moves after every match is a rating you cannot learn. The next full review lands with the new club season.
Frequently asked questions
- Which players were added after the 2026 World Cup?
- Around forty tournament regulars joined the pool, mostly players who went from squad member to undroppable starter over four weeks. They sit across every position, so you will meet them in any formation.
- Did any ratings go down?
- Yes. A tournament is evidence like any other, and a handful of players who were carrying reputations rather than form moved down a tier.
- Are teenagers rated fairly?
- They are rated on current output. A nineteen-year-old who starts and decides knockout matches is rated as a starter who decides knockout matches, not as a prospect.
- Can I draft only World Cup players?
- Not directly, but the Today's XI draft mode narrows the pool to current players, which is where almost all of them sit.
